Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR)

With a rise in teen pregnancy in Uganda, grassroots SRHR education and family planning services must be supplemented by policy advocacy to ensure a legal regime that protects the future of young people. As a result, WORUDET has made it a priority to engage and lobby with those who influence these decision-making and health policy processes on a regular basis.

We are committed to advancing inclusivity within programming initiatives centered around SRHR with a specific emphasis on catering to the needs of adolescent girls and women. Our interventions are tailored to contribute to more comprehensive and accessible civic and socioeconomic frameworks that address the diverse requirements of these target groups within an inclusive development model.

Our recent SRHR programs include:

She Cares: Advancing the learning agenda on self-care in humanitarian settings in Uganda

The She Cares project supports access to self-managed contraception and self-care awareness in the refugee settlements of Palabek (Lamwo district) and Bidibidi (Yumbe district) and neighboring host communities. She Cares is implemented in a consortium by the International Rescue Committee, WORUDET and ACORD Uganda.

She Soars: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Economic Empowerment (SHE) Supporting Out-of-school Adolescent Girls’ Rights and Skills (SOARS)

Through She Soars, WORUDET is transforming restrictive legal, sociocultural, religious, and political norms and structures that limit access to quality SRHR services in conflict-affected Northern Uganda. With partner Center for Reproductive Rights, WORUDET is promoting advocacy aimed at shaping policies and legislation that significantly affect the lives of women and girls in Rhino refugee settlement of Arua district.
